Make Time for a Girlfriends Getaway to the US Virgin Islands

by Marian Krueger, in category Destinations, US Virgin Islands

We’ve all had that moment at one time or another where we’ve told our friends, “We need to get away for a weekend.”  Then life gets in the way of the best ideas somehow fall to the wayside while we pay our bills, go to work, and live basically for each and every weekend.  But… Read More

Port Review: Havensight Mall, St. Thomas, USVI

by Marian Krueger, in category Destinations, US Virgin Islands

Many Eastern Caribbean cruises stop in St. Thomas at one of the two cruise ports, either Crown Bay or Havensight.  If you’re lucky enough to dock at Havensight and have no plans, you should at least get off the ship and do a little duty free shopping.  Whether you’re looking for name brand items or… Read More

Sailboats at Long Bay | St. Thomas, USVI

by Marian Krueger, in category Destinations, US Virgin Islands

While docked in St. Thomas recently on the Norwegian Getaway, I noticed an enormous number of sailboats all around the area.  Our ship was docked at Havensight, which sits off Long Bay.  The other dock in St. Thomas is Crown Bay, which you can see in the second picture above.  Usually the much larger ships… Read More

Taking a Moment to Stop and Smell (and Photograph) Flowers in St. Thomas, USVI

by Marian Krueger, in category Destinations, US Virgin Islands

No need to tell me I’m not like other people as believe me, I know that already. But seriously, while most people are busy snapping photos of their family, monuments, and landmarks, I’m usually off wandering about snapping pictures of random items like cars, dogs or cats, and even flowers.  I can’t help myself!  If… Read More

Onboard the Celebrity Summit: Day 2 of Our Cruise

by Marian Krueger, in category Celebrity Cruise, Cruises, US Virgin Islands

Despite objections from our son, we planned room service for 7:30 am in order to get an early start on our day.  As a result, we were off the ship by 9 am.  The walk from the ship into the port isn’t a long one, but they do have a ship shuttle for anyone needing… Read More

LIVE Onboard the Celebrity Eclipse: Day 4 of Our Cruise

by Marian Krueger, in category Celebrity Cruise, Cruises, Shopping, US Virgin Islands

With a big day planned for our St. Thomas port, we got up early to enjoy our special extended room service dining for Concierge class guests on our Celebrity Eclipse cruise.  My husband had a veggie omelet, my son had a ham and cheese omelet with a side of sausage, and I had oatmeal.  We also enjoyed… Read More

by Marian Krueger, in category Shopping, US Virgin Islands

Maybe you’re visiting Christiansted for the week and can explore Christiansted at your leisure. Perhaps you’re only in the port of Frederiksted for day while on a cruise. If it’s the latter, take the 30-minute ride over to Christiansted and take in the views, some great food, and of course, some great shopping. If you’re… Read More
