Oasis of the Seas: Boardwalk After Dry Dock | Royal Caribbean

Looking down on the Boardwalk
Looking down on the Boardwalk

One of the neighborhoods on Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas is the Boardwalk.  Great for kids and adults, this family friendly area has something for everyone.

CAROUSEL: Although I may never ride on the handcrafted carousel, I can appreciate the beauty and hard work of this beautiful piece of art.  The first ever carousel at sea was created by The Carousel Works of Mansfield, Ohio and installed on the ship May 2009 while the ship was still in the shipyard in Turku, Finland.

When you’re on the Oasis, you never quite lose sight of the fact that you’re on a mammoth size cruise ship.  Whether looking up or down, you can’t help but marvel at the size of this ship.  For example, looking down on the Boardwalk, the carousel looks incredibly tiny, as if you were looking at it from the top of a skyscraper.

When walking toward the Aqua Theater, to the right of the carousel you’ll see the new Cups & Scoops, the new Britto store, Arcade, and Sabor Taqueria.

On the other side you’ll find The Boardwalk Dog House, Candy Beach, Star Pier, and Johnny Rockets along with a few items that are perfect for posing with for the ultimate at sea photos.

ROCK CLIMBING WALL: With not just one, but two rock climbing walls measuring 43-feet in height, the Oasis of the Seas can easily brag about having the tallest rock climbing walls at sea.

AQUA THEATER: Unlike any ship before it, the Oasis of the Seas has this amazing Aqua Theater which is an amphitheater situated around the biggest and deepest freshwater pool at sea.  By day, guests can watch performers practice, lounge in the sun, take scuba lessons, or play shuffleboard behind the stage area.

The “Oasis of Dreams” is a nighttime show that takes place in the Aqua Theater.  Think dance meets water with a dash of synchronized swimming, gymnastics, aerial acts, diving, and acrobatics thrown in.  Every time there’s a show, people sit with their mouths open in total awe of the performance.  It’s that good!

The Boardwalk was one of the areas of the ship that I thoroughly enjoyed!  Have you recently sailed on the Oasis of the Seas and want to share your thoughts about the ship or the Boardwalk?  Go ahead and comment below or email me.
