Red telephone box in London

I could try to tell you that the juxtaposition of modern vs. traditional is evident everywhere you look in London, but yeah… I’m not doing that as it’s been said before.  You already know that, right? A historical city with tons of restaurants, pubs, shopping, and activities, in today’s post I’m simply talking about random red images of London starting with the famous red phone booth.  Many of the traditional red phone boxes have become green (actual green in color) “Solarbox” booths, which can power approximately 100 mobile phones a day through a roof mounted solar panel.

Red double decker buses

Of course, we can’t forget about the beautiful bright red double decker buses that are everywhere.  Before 1907, bus companies painted their buses the color of the route it would be serving.  But strong competition between bus companies resulted in one company painting their buses bright red to stand out from the rest.

Red truckload of beer

For the Captain Obvious advertising moment of the day, we turn to Camden Town Brewery and their bright red truckload of beer.  I think I saw packs of Walking Dead-like men trailing behind the truck drooling, but I could be wrong.

Have you traveled somewhere where there was a distinctive color throughout the city? I’d love to hear about it! In the meantime check out this post about multicultural London sightseeing by Karolina and Patryk.
