Packed and Ready for the Oasis of the Seas!

Oasis_of_the_Seas3The time has come for me to leave and head out for my trip on Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas.  While the cruise itself doesn’t begin until October 15, I’m leaving early to visit and enjoy a few of my favorite cities first: Reykjavik, Iceland and London.  This afternoon I received not only an email, but a phone call and text, but can you guess from whom?

Screen Shot 2014-10-10 at 3.55.30 PMIt was Royal Caribbean! The ship is traveling from Rotterdam on the 14th to Southampton where we will board the following day.  The itinerary states that the ship will depart at 11:59 pm, but it looks like boarding will start far earlier and will be in an extremely organized fashion.  Here’s to hoping everyone knows about this!

I’m also confessing that I have clearly overpacked and like no other trip I’ve ever been on.  Because the weather is so varied on this trip, from cold to warmer climates, I had no idea what to pack and so I think I’ve pretty much packed it all.  Let’s see: Suitcase – jam packed full.  Backpack with laptop, iPad, GoPro and accessories, and what not – jam packed full.  Camera bag – let’s not even talk about how full that is between all of my cameras and yes, even a Mel Meter and mini AM/FM frequency sweep radio (aka “spirit box”) because you never know when you might want to use them!

While I bid adieu from Boston to travel to Boston Logan International Airport to board my Icelandair flight to Reykjavik tonight, I invite you to follow me along not only on this trip, but all of my travels.  You can always find me online somewhere like Instagram, Twitter, FaceBook, Google+, YouTube, or here on the website. Lots of great pictures and video as well as great stories to come! Speaking of which, it’s my hope to post to the website daily while on the cruise as well as upload short videos in my new series for YouTube so stay tuned!
