After your long flight from the United States, which will probably consist of a few connecting flights that keep you traveling for as long as 24 hours, check into your Singapore hotel and take a quick nap before heading out to explore the sights of Singapore. Before you head out, don’t forget to put on your walking shoes. You’ll need to be as comfortable as possible — you are about to cover a lot of land in a short amount of time.

Singapore Flyer
Looking for more than just a great view? How about high tea or full butler sky dining while on board the Singapore Flyer? Take a ride on one of the world’s largest observation wheels, the 541-foot Singapore Flyer in Marina Bay. Once on board, you’ll be able to see far into the distance from one of the 28 enclosed capsules, which carry up to 28 passengers apiece. Marina Bay
If you love spending time near the water, then you’ll want to visit Marina Bay and the 3.5-kilometer Waterfront Promenade that goes around Marina Bay. Located near the Central Area of Singapore, this area is home to many events, including fireworks, Grand Prix races, and light art festivals, as well as the Marina Bay Sands, the iconic casino that many associate first with Singapore — the world’s most expensive standalone casino property.
Universal Studios Singapore
While you may not automatically think of Universal Studios Singapore as a stop on a short trip to Singapore, who doesn’t love a good theme park? This 49-acre park has 24 attractions within seven themed zones, similar to what you might find at the other Universal Studios parks around the globe. But unlike the others, this one has the world’s tallest pair of dueling roller coasters. That alone is a reason to spend a day at Universal Studios Singapore, although you also might want to spend some time in Ancient Egypt, The Lost World, Far Far Away, or Madagascar while you’re there.

Sri Mariamman Temple
When I travel anywhere in the world, I love to seek out places of worship to admire and appreciate their architecture. Sri Mariamman Temple is Singapore’s oldest Hindu temple and is considered not only a major tourist attraction but also a national monument. Built in 1827, it has been modified and rebuilt over the years and is also reconsecrated every 12 years, as required by Hindu tradition.
