A question I am often asked is, “Where are you going now?” Yes, I love to travel and it seems like I am always going somewhere, but it doesn’t just happen. I am meticulous with my research and planning and I do all I can to save up my pennies, which is how I am able to travel as often as I do. I made a decision just a few years ago to put money aside every month into a savings account. The money is withdrawn automatically and I never touch it unless I am paying off an upcoming trip. This way I am paying cash for my trip and not putting yet another charge on my credit card.
The next few weeks means more stickers for my suitcase as I am off to Washington, DC; a cruise on Royal Caribbean’s “Oasis of the Seas”‘ and a trip to Nepal. A friend from college is fundraising to support her trip to Nepal to write a book. Check out her Kickstarter page, which has more information as well as pictures about her endeavors and the Himalaya Rescue Dog Squad Nepal. “Since its formation in 1989, the HRDSN has provided Search & Rescue and medical aid when trekkers have been reported missing or injured and in the event of natural disasters, such as earthquakes, landslides, and flash flooding. The team is able to provide helicopter rescue and tracking dogs to almost any area of Nepal.” But why am I going? An opportunity for adventure presented itself and I couldn’t say no! This was a chance to spend time with an old friend, learn about a new country and the HRDSN, and hopefully to learn a little more about myself. I will post more as my travel date approaches and of course, afterwards with pictures.
