Shhhh… don’t tell anyone. I’m a shoe whore! I can’t possibly own enough shoes. So when I heard about BucketFeet, I was intrigued.
What is BucketFeet? Basically they are 100% artist designed shoes. Their mission is a simple one to connect people through art. It’s three simple words: BucketFeet Shoes and Art.
Currently BucketFeet works with over 12,000 artists from 100 countries including painters, graphic designers, graffiti writers, street writers, photographers, and more. BucketFeet manufactures and distributes the product while the artists receive an upfront payment and a royalty fee for every item sold.
It took about 60 seconds for me to read about BucketFeet and then order. But what to choose? They offer slip on, lace up, and mid top shoes for both men and women as well as kids shoes and flip flops.
My eyes immediately gravitated toward a pair of slip ons with skulls called “Catrinas.” Strangely enough, the artist is Mariana Cambers (Meteoro) from Mexico. I think I was destined to have these shoes!
Here’s a little about the shoe:
These shoes sport the green, red, and white of the Mexican flag, proudly representing facets of artist Meteoro’s Mexican heritage. The skulls nod to the traditions of Día de Muertos and adds an undeniable edge to any otherwise straight-forward outfit.
And a little about the artist:
Mariana CamberosLoreanzana studied fashion design at the Saint Martin school and Art Direccion for Cine (SICA) in Buenos Aires while developing the bases of her very own stylistic big-bang.. « It aint clothes, it’s lucky charms ready to wear. » That’s how METEORO defines both her vision of Fashion Design and her creations. With her unique style, METEORO took an active part in the art direction of the Tropical Bass movement (Neo Cumbia, Folcore, Moobahton…) in South America and in Europe.
I’m ecstatic about wearing wearing funky, original shoes while also supporting an artist from an emerging country. It doesn’t hurt that the shoes ship super fast AND are comfortable with insoles that have massaging air bubbles to cushion each step for maximum comfort.
BucketFeet products are available online as well as through retailers. Check out their website to find a retailer near you. But be warned: When an item sells out, it’s gone forever. If you see something you like, better order it right away or you might miss out on it.
While they currently only sell shoes, other products may come in the future. They have a solid fan in me and I plan on returning again (and again!)
Do you have a product you’d like me to know? Send me an email and let’s talk!

All opinions and photographs about this product are my own. I purchased the shoes myself and because I was happy about the product, I thought I’d write a review.
How do they feel on the heels? Are they kinda stiff or rub at all? Thanks!
Hi Janna – they were a little stiff at first, but so are most shoes. But what I love about them is how unique they are and that I’m pretty sure I won’t run into anyone wearing them. Still one of my favorites!
