Think you know everything there is to know about Texas? Arlington is the American Dream City, and we know everyone wants to be happy. Arlington is nearly 100 square miles and has a population of nearly 400,000 residents, so it won’t be long before you discover why everything’s bigger in Texas.

Located only about 20 miles west of Downtown Dallas, Arlington has year-round seasonable temperatures that result in hot and humid summers and mild to cool winters. Pack appropriately and get out and about because there’s much to see and do in Arlington. Here are a few of my suggestions on what to do in this city.

Go Cowboys!

Watch a Dallas Cowboys football game at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, which opened in 2009. The stadium seats 80,000 people, and with standing room, it accommodates 105,000 fans.

Go Rangers!

Watch a Texas Rangers baseball game at the Globe Life Park in Arlington. This stadium opened in 1994, although a new stadium is scheduled to be built and completed in 2020 next to the current stadium.

Go Mavericks!

Watch one of the many sports that the UT Arlington Mavericks compete in from the University of Texas at Arlington, including football, basketball, baseball, and 11 other men’s and women’s sports. Go Mavericks!

Go Adrenaline!

Feel an adrenaline surge at Six Flags Over Texas. Maybe you’d rather feel an adrenaline surge as you run around an amusement park, riding one of the 44 rides, including 12 roller coasters like Titan or Shock Wave. I’m all about the thrill rides like BATMAN the Ride, a roller coaster with tons of loops and twists. There’s plenty of family and kid rides, too, to please everyone.

Go Stars!

Gaze up at the stars at the Planetarium at the University of Texas at Arlington. The Planetarium is one of the largest and most sophisticated in the state of Texas, with a 60-foot-diameter dome. You’ll feel like a real astronaut when you see the show “Astronaut.”

Go Gourmet (or Not)!

Enjoy a tasty meal in Arlington. The food in Texas isn’t just Tex-Mex. What’s Tex-Mex? Combine traditional Mexican food with lots of cheese and meat, and you’ll discover Tex-Mex food. It includes things like nachos, fajitas, burritos, and more. In addition to Tex-Mex, there’s a little bit of everything in Arlington, including Lebanese, European, Brazilian, sushi, and the list goes on and on. Believe me, you won’t run out of options in Arlington.

Feeling inspired to plan a trip to Arlington? Everything’s bigger in Texas, including Arlington hotel options. Whether you’re hoping to stay one night at the airport, a few days while visiting family, or a couple weeks on your yearly vacation, Arlington has a wide variety of hotel accommodations for every budget. Choose from two- to five-star properties like the Holiday Inn, Hilton, Marriott, and many more.

Always book as far in advance as possible to get your number-one choice as well as the best rate. Then sit back and start the planning for your next trip to Arlington, Texas.
