Fun Food Finds in Regensburg, Germany

One of my favorite things to do is to go shopping, especially when I’m traveling.  Sometimes I’m not so much shopping as I’m window shopping with my camera in tow to get a feel for the city or town I’m visiting. Today is all about fun food finds in Regensburg, Germany.

Chocolate!

On my recent Viking River Cruise, one of the cities we visited was Regensburg, Germany.  I admit I kind of railroaded Karla to duck into Läderach, a Swiss specialty chocolate store so as to get a sniff of some freshly made chocolate.

And even more chocolate!

Truth be told, there was no way I was buying any chocolate as I didn’t need any and I certainly didn’t have the room to put any in my bag, but I can’t resist the smell of chocolate.  If only I had the space! In this store the smell truly enveloped you as soon as you walked inside and it was difficult to leave, but onward we went.

Next stop, the local grocery store.  I always love wandering the aisles of grocery store  to see what types of vegetarian food options are available.  Of course, I’m the weirdo walking the aisles of the store with my camera in hand.

Quorn hack

I wish we had this many varieties of Quorn at home, but then again — not sure what exactly is “hack.”

Bread!

Did someone say bread?  Yum!

What sounds fairly pedantic and ordinary to you may get lost in translation for the rest of us.  Can’t imagine asking for a “Bum Bum” from the ice cream man.  These items were tame compared to the ones I have coming up from my visit to a grocery store in Vienna.

Have you discovered any unusual food finds on your travels?
