On my recent Mysterious Morocco and Seductive Spain cruise on Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines Balmoral, our port of call on this sunny day was Cartagena, Spain. After a few days of non-stop rain, it was such a relief and a pleasure to see the sun again. Read more about my day in port in my post about Cartagena here.
At the end of our time in port, we climbed back onboard Balmoral and made our way to the Lido deck for sailaway. I promised you a video and below is a quick timelapse video that I took during our departure from Cartagena. I especially loved passing the red and white lighthouse below called Cartagena Dique de Navidad (Navidad Light).
I have to admit that sailaway parties onboard a Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines ship is pretty amazing. Everyone laughs, chats, drinks, and has a blast while enjoying the last few moments of a port before heading out to sea. With a view like this, you can’t possibly hate cruising can you?
Have you ever been to Cartagena, Spain on a cruise and experienced a sailaway like I did? If you haven’t, you definitely should consider it.
