Here you’ll find the largest mall in Texas, The Galleria, which is also the seventh largest mall in the United States. The Galleria spans 3 million total square feet with over 375 stores, including many high-end brands such as Prada, Coach, Louis Vuitton, and Gucci, among a host of others. After you’ve finished buying everything you can get your hands on, you might feel famished and want to dine in one of the many restaurants within the Galleria.

Where to Dine

If you want to put your shopping behind you and gamble on discovering something else, it’s all up to you during your 48 hours in Houston. Stay in the Galleria/Uptown neighborhood or venture off to the best eating neighborhood in Houston, Montrose. Only about 15 minutes from the Galleria/Uptown area of Houston, Montrose is a small, four square mile neighborhood. How do they pack a punch with an eclectic mix of restaurants that include Indian, Mexican, fusion, burgers, tacos, and barbecue? Where else can you go and have lunch with an astronaut? If museums are of interest to you, take a ride by bus or by the convenient METRORail system over to the Museum District.
