Sailing on the Carnival Sensation

My last trip was a short one on the Carnival “Sensation” in January. This four day cruise is a pleasant introduction into the world of cruising or a quick getaway for anyone wanting to sneak away for a bit. Launched in 1993 and refurbished in 2006, the Sensation is not a new, glitzy ship, but she still has much to offer. Choose from miniature golf, the children’s area complete with programs for all ages up to teenagers, pools, hot tubs, workout room, cafés, nightclubs, casinos, and so much more.

Not to mention the service and food in the dining room, which was fantastic! We had a large group at dinner and our waiter remembered everyone’s names and what they were drinking without asking including the children is great service. The food – oh the food! Everyone raves about the Chocolate Melting Cake, but we also had great reviews for the French Onion Soup, Tiger Shrimp Cocktail, prime rib, and other comfort foods, classics, and special menu items. As a vegan, it is next to impossible to find appropriate fare and I usually end up eating vegetarian on vacation. On this ship, the vegetarian choices were fantastic! The eggplant parmigiana was delicious as were all of the Indian fare. You won’t go hungry on Carnival!
